Marriage and Family Counseling
Students are prepared to counsel both families and couples and trained in systems theory and the systemic perspective of how to view, interpret, and intervene with problems associated with marriage and family life. This degree prepares students for work as a marriage and family counselor. Some additional course work is required for counseling licensure.

MARRIAGE AND FAMILY COUNSELING
Master of Science (M.S.) or Master of Arts (M.A.)

The program of study prepares students to counsel both families and couples. Students are trained in systems theory and the systemic perspective of how to view, interpret, and intervene with problems associated with marriage and family life. This degree prepares students for work as a marrriage and family counselor. Some additional coursework is required for counseling licensure.

ADVISED ELECTIVES CNL 667 is recommended for this major's elective in order to meet Ohio PC requirements. Students are also encouraged to take CNL 865 Practicum, which is also a requirement for the PC license. 4 hours


Total Quarter Hours: 71 credit hours for M.S.


Notes: M.A. Thesis option is available. Requires EDL 852 Statistical Analysis and Research Design (4 credit hours) and ED 899 Thesis (9 credit hours)
