If problems, issues, questions or concerns should arise during your assignment, please contact your supervisor, site liaison or the Office of Professional Field Experiences.

We have changed our format for posting your practicum assignments.

Arranged practicum assignment information will be reflected on TK20, though WSU students (Teacher Candidates) must be registered for their practicum and their registration uploaded to TK20 in order for this to occur.

For those of you that are not familiar with maneuvering through Tk20, here are the steps to access your assignment:

Directions to locate practicum assignments on TK20 :

  • Web site URL: https://tk20.wright.edu.
  • Log on using your UID# and password (what you use for Wings Express).
  • Choose the 'Home’ tab.
  • Then check your ‘Messages’ for "Notice of Field Placement".
  • The message will provide the name of your school site and assigned Cooperating Teacher / Clinical Faculty; give our office a call if you need a phone number to the school.
  • An electronic 'Field Experience Binder' will also be uploaded to TK20 at the start of the term of your practicum. Find this on the 'Home' tab under 'Pending Tasks', labeled"Please start the field experience'. Clicking on this link will provide further details about your assigned school site. You can also locate this electronic Field Experience Binder under the "Field Experience" tab on Tk20 - click on the title of the binder specific to the term and practicum registration according to your program / major.

Contact the Office of Professional Field Experiences, 937-775-2107, with further questions.

Practicum Information

Please be aware that:

  1. An electronic 'Field Experience Binder' will also be uploaded to TK20 at the start of the term of your practicum. Find this on the 'Home' tab under 'Pending Tasks', labeled"Please start the field experience". Clicking on this link will provide further tabs with  information on documenting your practicum experience.
  2. It is your responsibility to make contact with your Cooperating Teacher / Clinical Faculty prior to beginning your assignment at the arranged school site.
  3. It is your responsibility to download the practicum course packet information from this electronic 'binder' on TK20.
  4. It is your responsibility to deliver materials from the practicum course packet information (electronic 'binder' on TK20) to your Cooperating Teacher / Clinical Faculty.
  5. Your Cooperating Teacher / Clinical Faculty will need their own access to TK20 to verify your attendance calendars, and submit lesson or practicum assessments where applicable. If they do not have their log-on information, encourage them to email or call our office. We ask our students to assist their Cooperating Teachers / Clinical Faculty with maneuvering through TK20 as needed.
  6. Some changes will occur in the schools that we cannot control.
  7. The Office of Professional Field Experiences is working in an ongoing manner to arrange placements with schools, and school sites sometimes cause delays. Patience is an appropriate virtue.

Wright State University (WSU) students (Teacher Candidates) are guests in the buildings of our area schools. Because of this, it is necessary to respect and adhere to the rules and guidelines set forth by the individual districts and buildings in regard to acceptable dress, behavior, and demeanor of classroom visitors.

In the event of a dispute, WSU Teacher Candidate should comply with school district policies. If this is not possible, the Teacher Candidate should contact the Director of the Office of Professional Field Experiences immediately. If an irresolvable issue should present itself between the WSU Teacher Candidate and the host school, it may be necessary to remove the Teacher Candidate from the field experience. Depending on the circumstances of the removal, the Teacher Candidate may be eligible for relocation to a more suitable placement. However, reassignment cannot be guaranteed.
